How to Cancel LinkedIn Learning (and Check If You're Paying Twice)

Standalone Learning is $39.99/mo. Premium Career includes Learning and is also $39.99/mo. Plenty of people pay both. Step one is figuring out which one you have.

Before you cancel: the $39.99 trap

Standalone LinkedIn Learning is $39.99/mo. Premium Career is also $39.99/mo, and it already includes Learning. Identical price, identical LINKEDIN merchant name, two independent subscriptions.

Open linkedin.com/psettings/premium on desktop. If you see both listed, you're paying $80 for what could be $40. Cancel the standalone Learning line, keep Premium. The Quora threads on this are long and grim.

Learning (standalone)

$39.99/mo
  • Courses, certificates, exercise files
  • That's the whole product

Premium Career

$39.99/mo
  • Everything in Learning
  • Plus InMail, applicant insights (cancel guide)

Also worth checking first

Over 2,700 North American public libraries offer Learning free with a library card. Many employers include it too. Search the Learning for Library directory. Canceling your personal plan does not touch institutional access.

The five-click cancel (desktop only)

LinkedIn's official cancel page confirms direct-billed plans cannot be canceled in the mobile app. App Store and Google Play buyers skip to the platform sections below.

1

Go to linkedin.com/psettings/premium

Sign in on desktop. The direct URL skips the profile menu.

2

Click Manage Premium account

Find the Learning row. If Premium Career is listed here too, you've just found the duplicate. Cancel each one separately.

3

Click Cancel subscription, decline three retention offers

A discount, a downgrade, and a pause prompt, in that fixed order. None block you. Click Continue to cancel through each.

4

Pick any reason from the survey

Gated, not blocking. Any answer works.

5

Confirm and watch for the email

The summary screen shows the date your access ends. LinkedIn emails confirmation within minutes. No email means the cancel didn't save. Start over.

The one-day rule. Submit at least one full calendar day before your next billing date, or you'll be charged for another cycle.

What you keep, what you lose

Access runs to the end of your billing cycle. After that, certificates stay on your profile forever (badges and verification URLs still validate), but course videos, exercise files, quizzes, and offline downloads all disappear, including for courses you already finished. Progress is paused, not deleted, so a future resubscribe (or library sign-in) picks up where you left off.

Refunds: read this before you hope

LinkedIn's Learning FAQ says it plainly: "We don't offer refunds for LinkedIn Learning subscriptions." The 7-day window in the refund policy applies only if you've watched zero content. EU subscribers get a 14-day withdrawal right; Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands allow one-month notice with a partial refund. Annual-plan math is bleak everywhere else: we wrote about that.

Questions people actually ask

If I cancel, do my certificates disappear?

No. Profile badges and verification URLs stay active forever. You lose the videos, exercise files, quizzes, and offline downloads at end of billing. The credential survives. The classroom does not.

Am I paying for both Learning and Premium Career?

Check linkedin.com/psettings/premium on desktop. Both products are $39.99/mo and both appear as LINKEDIN on your statement. Premium Career already includes Learning. If both are listed, cancel the standalone Learning line and keep Premium.

Can I cancel inside the LinkedIn mobile app?

Not for direct-billed plans. Desktop only. App Store and Google Play purchases cancel inside those platforms.

If I cancel a free trial, can I take another later?

Not for 12 months. LinkedIn's free-trial terms lock you out of another Learning trial for a year after a cancel.

Now that Learning is off, check what else is doubling up.
