How to Cancel Lionsgate Play in India
The cancel button is a three-minute job. Finding who is actually charging you is the hard part: Lionsgate Play sells through itself, Apple, Google, Airtel, Tata Play, Jio, and a few bank-card perks. Cancelling at the wrong one leaves the charge running.

Lionsgate Play (direct, web or app)
Cancel on lionsgateplay.com or in the app. Steps below.
Apple / iTunes
Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Lionsgate Play → Cancel.
Google Play
Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Lionsgate Play → Cancel. Full path: Google Play cancel guide.
Airtel / Airtel Xstream
Bundled into your Airtel plan. Change it in the Airtel Thanks app or call 198. The Lionsgate site cancel button does nothing here.
Tata Play Binge

Jio / JioFiber
MyJio or jio.com → Account → Plan Details → remove the OTT add-on.
HDFC or other bank-card OTT perk
Some credit cards include Lionsgate Play as a complimentary benefit. Swap the OTT benefit (for Hotstar, ZEE5, SonyLIV) in the bank's rewards portal or call the card line.

The fast path
Sign in at lionsgateplay.com → My Account → Manage Subscription → Cancel Subscription → confirm. Confirmation email comes from [email protected]. You keep watching until the billing period ends.
Sign in with your registered email or phone
Phone signups need the OTP. There is no shortcut URL, so this step is non-skippable.
Open My Account, then Manage Subscription
Profile icon top right on web; profile tab in the app. An Indian consumer report flagged the cancel option as hard to spot in-app, so if you cannot find it there, use the website.
Tap Cancel Subscription
No retention pop-up, no save offer, no pause prompt. Lionsgate Play is too small to run a retention gauntlet, which works in your favour.
Confirm and watch for the email
Confirmation arrives within a few minutes. If it does not (check spam), start over. The email is your proof.
The thing the FAQ does not mention
The Google Play "not subscribed" loop is a known bug.
A documented pattern on the Google Play Community forum: you pay ₹399 via Google Play, see the subscription active in the Play Store, then open the Lionsgate Play app and are told you are not subscribed. Do not pay the second time.
Screenshot the active Play Store subscription. Email [email protected] with the screenshot, the Google order ID, and the account email or phone. If a duplicate charge already hit, request that refund from Google Play (the merchant of record), not Lionsgate.
When the charge actually stops
Access runs until the period ends; then the account drops to logged-out free. No prorated refund on ₹699, ₹399, or ₹149: unused days are not returned once cancellation is confirmed.
On the ₹9 introductory trial: cancel before day 30 or it auto-converts to a paid plan. No warning email.
For genuine billing errors, India's IT Rules require a Grievance Officer with a 15-day reply: [email protected]. If that fails, the National Consumer Helpline (1800-11-4000) is the next step. IndiaCustomerCare mirrors the official contacts.

In January 2026, Lionsgate sold its India and Southeast Asia operation to founder Rohit Jain in a roughly $30M management buyout, keeping a content licensing deal (Variety, BusinessToday). Plans and cancel flow unchanged as of this verification. We re-verify quarterly.

I cancelled on lionsgateplay.com but my Airtel or Tata Play bill still shows it. Why?
Airtel, Tata Play and Jio bundle Lionsgate Play into their own packs, so Lionsgate has nothing to cancel. Cancel at the carrier: Airtel Thanks app or 198, Tata Play Binge app, MyJio. The single most common Lionsgate Play complaint in India.
Does Lionsgate Play refund unused months on the ₹699 annual plan?
No. Unused days are not refunded and there is no refund window. For genuine billing errors, escalate to [email protected] (15-day reply commitment).
I paid through Google Play but the app says I am not subscribed.
