Cancel on Minecraft.net (Bedrock Edition)

1

Go to Minecraft.net and sign in

Head over to minecraft.net and click Log In in the top-right corner. Sign in with the Microsoft account linked to your Minecraft purchase. If you have forgotten which email you used, well, that is a whole different adventure.

2

Navigate to your Profile

Once signed in, click on your profile name or go to Profile in the navigation. This is your Minecraft account hub where you can manage everything from skins to subscriptions.

3

Open the Realms section

Look for the Realms tab or section. You will see your active Realm(s) listed here with their subscription status and renewal date. Click on the Realm you want to cancel.

4

Cancel your Realms subscription

Click the Cancel button next to your Realm subscription. Confirm the cancellation when prompted. Your Realm will stay online until the end of your current billing period -- so your friends can get a few more sessions in before the world goes dark.

Pro tip: Before canceling, download your Realm world! In-game, go to your Realm settings and select Download World to save a local copy. This way you keep your builds forever, even without the subscription.

What Happens After You Cancel Minecraft Realms?

Your Realm stays online until the billing period ends

Canceling does not pull the plug immediately. You and your friends can keep playing on the Realm until the current subscription period expires. Make the most of those final days!

Your world is saved for 18 months

Minecraft keeps your Realm world data for 18 months after expiration. If you resubscribe within that window, your world -- including all those painstakingly placed blocks -- will be right where you left it.

Friends lose access to the server

Once the Realm goes offline, invited players can no longer connect. If you want to keep playing together, you will need to host a local server or use a third-party hosting service.

Realms Plus marketplace content becomes unavailable

If you had Realms Plus, the 150+ included marketplace packs (maps, skins, texture packs) will no longer be accessible. Any separately purchased marketplace content remains yours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I lose my Minecraft Realms world if I cancel?

Not right away. Your world data is stored for 18 months after your subscription expires. You can also download the world to local storage before canceling to keep it permanently. Think of it as taking a screenshot, but for an entire universe.

Can I get a refund for Minecraft Realms?

Generally, no. Minecraft Realms does not offer refunds. After you cancel, your Realm stays active until the end of your current billing period, so you get what you paid for.

What is the difference between Realms and Realms Plus?

Realms (Bedrock) supports up to 2 players simultaneously and costs $3.99/mo. Realms Plus supports up to 10 players, includes 150+ marketplace content packs, and costs $7.99/mo. Java Edition Realms supports up to 10 players at $7.99/mo without the marketplace content.

Can other players still access my Realm after I cancel?

Yes, until the subscription period ends. Once the Realm goes offline at the end of the billing cycle, no one can connect anymore. The Realm owner (you) would need to resubscribe to bring it back online.

Can I transfer my Realm world to another player?

Not directly. However, you can download the world and share the file with another player, who can then upload it to their own Realm or local server. It is a bit of a manual process, but it gets the job done.
