Cancel Monarch Money on the Website
Log in to Monarch Money
Go to monarchmoney.com and sign in with the email and password you used to create your account. You can also open the Monarch Money app, but cancellation is typically easiest through the web browser.
Export your financial data (recommended)
Before canceling, go to Settings and look for the Export or Data option. Download a CSV export of your transactions, budgets, and financial history. This ensures you have a backup of all your data before losing access to premium features.
Go to Settings and find Subscription
Click on Settings from the left sidebar (or the gear icon in the app). Navigate to the Subscription or Billing section. Here you will see your current plan, billing cycle, and payment method.
Click Cancel Subscription
Click the Cancel Subscription or Cancel Plan button. Monarch Money may ask why you are leaving and could offer a discounted rate or suggest pausing your account. Decline any retention offers if you want to fully cancel.
Confirm your cancellation
Click the final Confirm Cancellation button. Your subscription will remain active through the end of your current billing period, and you will not be charged again after that. You should receive a confirmation email from Monarch Money.
Subscribed Through Apple or Google?
If you subscribed to Monarch Money through the iOS App Store or Google Play Store, you need to cancel through those platforms to stop billing.

What Happens After You Cancel Monarch Money?
Premium features remain until your billing period ends
Your Monarch Money premium features (bank syncing, budgets, reports, collaboration) remain fully functional until the end of your current billing cycle. You are not charged again after that date.
Bank connections stop syncing
Once your premium access ends, your linked bank and investment accounts will stop syncing new transactions automatically. Your existing transaction history remains, but no new data will be pulled in.
Your data is not immediately deleted
Monarch Money retains your financial data for a period after cancellation. You may have limited read-only access to view past transactions and reports. However, active features like budgets, goals, and reports will be restricted.
Collaborator access is revoked
If you share your Monarch Money household with a partner or family member, their access to shared finances, budgets, and accounts will be restricted once your premium subscription ends.

Monarch Money costs $14.99 per month or $99.99 per year (equivalent to about $8.33/month). The annual plan offers significant savings. The subscription includes all features for the entire household, so partners and family members can share one subscription.
Can I export my data before canceling?
Yes. Go to Settings in Monarch Money and look for the data export option. You can download your transactions as a CSV file, which you can open in a spreadsheet application. It is strongly recommended to export your data before canceling so you have a complete record of your financial history.
Is Monarch Money a replacement for Mint?

Can I get a refund on my annual subscription?
Monarch Money does not have a published refund policy for annual subscriptions. If you recently signed up for an annual plan and want a refund, contact their customer support team through the in-app chat or email. They may offer a prorated refund on a case-by-case basis.
Can I resubscribe to Monarch Money later?
Yes. You can resubscribe at any time by logging back in and selecting a plan. If your data was retained, your accounts, transactions, and budgets should still be available when you reactivate. Bank connections may need to be re-established.
