Cancel NYT on the Website
Sign in to your NYT account
Go to nytimes.com and sign in with the email associated with your subscription. Make sure you are logged in with the account that holds the paid plan, not a shared access account.
Go to your Subscription page
Navigate to nytimes.com/subscription or click your profile icon, select Account, then click Subscription overview. This page displays your current plan, billing date, and payment method.
Click Cancel or Manage Subscription
Look for a Cancel link in your subscription details. Clicking it may open a live chat window where a representative will process your cancellation. Alternatively, you may be asked to call 1-800-591-9233.
Decline retention offers
The NYT will likely offer you a discounted rate, a temporary pause, or switch to a cheaper plan. If you want to fully cancel, politely decline all offers and state that you want to proceed with cancellation.
Confirm cancellation
