Cancel Readwise on the Website
Sign in to Readwise
Go to readwise.io in your web browser and sign in with the account you want to cancel. You can sign in using your email, Google, or Apple account depending on how you originally registered.
Go to readwise.io/account
Click your profile icon in the top-right corner and select Account, or go directly to readwise.io/account. This page shows your current plan (Readwise Full or Lite), billing information, and export options. Pro tip: before canceling, visit readwise.io/export to download your highlights.
Click Cancel Subscription
Scroll down to the Subscription section. You will see your current plan (Readwise Full, Readwise Lite, etc.) and a Cancel Subscription or Manage Subscription link. Click it to begin the cancellation process. If you see "Manage Subscription," it will take you to the Stripe billing portal where you can cancel.
Decline any retention offers
Readwise may offer you a discounted rate or suggest pausing your subscription instead. If you want to fully cancel, decline these offers and continue with the cancellation.
Confirm your cancellation
Click the final Confirm Cancellation button. You should see a confirmation message, and Readwise will send a confirmation email. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
Subscribed Through Apple or Google?
If you subscribed to Readwise through the iOS App Store or Google Play Store, canceling on the Readwise website will not stop your billing. You need to cancel through the platform where you originally subscribed.

- 2. Tap your name at the top (Apple Account)
- 3. Tap Subscriptions
- 4. Tap Readwise in the list
- 5. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm

- 1. Open the Google Play Store app
- 2. Tap your profile icon (top right)
- 3. Tap Payments & subscriptions
- 4. Tap Subscriptions then Readwise

What Happens After You Cancel Readwise?
Your highlights are preserved
All your highlights, notes, and tags remain in your Readwise account after canceling. They are not deleted. You can export them at any time, and if you resubscribe later, everything will still be there.
Daily Review emails stop
Readwise's signature Daily Review feature, which surfaces random highlights from your library, will stop once your subscription ends. You will no longer receive review emails or push notifications.
Reader access ends
If you were on the Readwise Full plan, you will lose access to Readwise Reader (the read-it-later and RSS app) at the end of your billing period. Your saved articles and feeds will remain if you resubscribe.
Export your highlights before you cancel
Visit readwise.io/export to download your full highlight library as CSV or Markdown. If you use the Notion, Obsidian, or Logseq integrations, do a final manual sync before canceling -- automatic syncing stops once your subscription ends. Your exported data is yours to keep.

Will I lose my highlights if I cancel Readwise?

Will my Notion/Obsidian sync stop working?
Yes. Once your subscription ends, automatic syncing to Notion, Obsidian, Logseq, and other connected apps will stop. Any highlights already synced will remain in those apps, but new highlights will not be exported.
