Cancel Runway on the Website
Sign in to Runway
Go to runwayml.com and sign in with the account that holds your paid subscription. You need to be logged in as the account owner to manage billing.
Open Account Settings
Click your profile icon or avatar in the top-right corner of the Runway dashboard. Select Settings or Account from the dropdown menu.
Navigate to Plan & Billing
In your account settings, click on the Plan & Billing or Subscription tab. This page shows your current plan tier, billing cycle, next payment date, and credit balance.
Click Cancel Plan
Click the Cancel Plan or Manage Subscription button. Runway may redirect you to Stripe (their payment processor) to manage the cancellation. Follow the prompts to proceed.
Confirm Your Cancellation
Runway may ask why you are leaving and offer a discount to stay. If you want to continue canceling, click Confirm Cancellation. You will receive a confirmation email from Runway or Stripe verifying the cancellation.
Subscribed Through Apple or Google?
If you signed up for Runway through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, you need to cancel through those platforms instead. The Runway website will not show billing options for App Store subscriptions.

- 2. Tap your name at the top (Apple Account)
- 3. Tap Subscriptions
- 4. Tap Runway in the list
- 5. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm

- 1. Open the Google Play Store app
- 2. Tap your profile icon (top right)
- 3. Tap Payments & subscriptions
- 4. Tap Subscriptions then Runway
- 5. Tap Cancel subscription and confirm
What Happens After You Cancel Runway?
You keep access until your billing period ends
After canceling, your paid plan features and remaining credits stay active until the end of your current billing cycle. You will not be charged again.
Your generated content is preserved
Videos, images, and other content you have already generated remain in your Runway account. You can still view and download them on the free tier, but generating new content will be limited.
Unused credits expire
Any credits remaining in your account at the end of your billing period will expire. They do not roll over to a free account. Use them before your plan ends if possible.
You can resubscribe anytime
If you change your mind, you can resubscribe to any Runway plan at any time through your account settings. Your previous projects and assets will still be available.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will I lose my generated videos if I cancel Runway?
No. Your previously generated content stays in your account. You can still access and download it. However, you will not be able to create new AI-generated content beyond the free tier limits.
Does Runway offer refunds?
Runway generally does not issue refunds for partial billing periods. If you cancel mid-cycle, you keep access to paid features until the end of that billing period. For extenuating circumstances, you can reach out to Runway support.
What happens to my unused credits?
Unused credits expire at the end of your billing period once cancellation takes effect. It is a good idea to use your remaining credits before your plan ends, as they will not carry over.
Can I cancel an annual Runway plan early?
You can cancel at any time, but annual plans are typically non-refundable. Your paid features will stay active until the end of the annual billing period. After that, your account reverts to the free tier.
Is there a free tier after canceling?
Yes. Runway offers a free tier with limited credits for generation. After your paid plan expires, your account automatically moves to the free tier, which gives you a small number of credits to try new features.
