What Happens After You Cancel Scribd?

Premium access continues until your billing period ends

Scribd does not cut off access immediately. You can continue reading ebooks, listening to audiobooks, and browsing documents until the end of your current billing cycle.

Your account and saved items remain

Your Scribd account, saved lists, and bookmarks are preserved. If you resubscribe, your library and reading history will be waiting for you.

You lose access to all premium content

After your billing period ends, you can no longer read ebooks, listen to audiobooks, or access premium documents. You can still view free user-uploaded documents on the platform.

Confirmation email sent

Scribd sends a confirmation email to the address registered on your account once your cancellation is processed. Keep this email as a receipt in case any billing issues arise.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I lose access to my saved books on Scribd?

After your billing period ends, you lose access to all premium ebooks, audiobooks, and documents. Your saved lists and bookmarks remain on your account, so if you resubscribe, you can pick up where you left off.

Can I get a refund from Scribd?

Scribd does not typically offer refunds for partial billing periods. Your access continues until the end of your current billing cycle. If you were charged unexpectedly, contact Scribd support through their Help Center.

How do I cancel a Scribd free trial?

Cancel your free trial the same way as a paid subscription: go to Your Account, find Subscription & Payment Details, and click End My Subscription. Cancel before your trial ends to avoid being charged for the first month.

Why does Scribd keep showing me offers when I try to cancel?

Scribd presents multiple retention offers and prompts during the cancellation flow. This is normal. Keep clicking through each prompt until you see a final confirmation message confirming your subscription has been ended.
