What Happens After You Cancel Arlo Secure?

Cameras still work for live viewing

Your Arlo cameras continue to stream live video and send basic motion alerts without a subscription. You just lose cloud recording, activity zones, and smart detection features.

Cloud recordings are deleted

All cloud-stored video clips are deleted when your subscription ends. Download any important recordings before canceling. Local USB storage on compatible Arlo bases continues to work.

Smart features are disabled

Activity zones, person/vehicle/animal detection, package detection, and e911 emergency calling all require an active Arlo Secure subscription and will stop working.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my Arlo cameras still work without a subscription?

Yes. Your cameras provide live streaming and basic motion alerts. You lose cloud recording, activity zones, smart notifications, and the 30-day video library. Local USB storage still works on compatible bases.

What happens to my recorded videos?

Cloud-stored recordings are deleted after your subscription ends. Download any clips you want to keep before canceling by going to Library in the Arlo app and saving videos to your device.

Can I switch to a cheaper Arlo plan?

Yes. You can downgrade from Arlo Secure Plus ($17.99/month for unlimited cameras) to the basic Arlo Secure plan ($4.99/month for one camera) instead of canceling entirely.

Does Arlo offer a free plan?

Arlo no longer offers a free cloud storage tier for new accounts. Without a subscription, you get live view only. Some older accounts may still have legacy free storage plans.

Can I use Arlo cameras with other services?

Some Arlo cameras work with Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home for basic live viewing. However, full recording and smart features require the Arlo Secure subscription.
