You cannot cancel Audible through the app
Audible does not allow cancellation from the mobile app. You must use a web browser and go to audible.com to cancel. This is the most common point of confusion. If you subscribed through Apple or Google Play, those are the exception and you cancel through their subscription settings instead.
Cancel Audible on the Website
Go to Audible.com and sign in
Open audible.com in your web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.). Sign in with the Amazon account that is linked to your Audible membership. If you are not sure which Amazon account you used, check your email for previous Audible receipts.
Go to Account Details
Hover over or click your name in the top-right corner of the page. From the dropdown menu, select Account Details. This takes you to your membership management page where you can see your plan type, next billing date, and credit balance.
Click Cancel membership
Under the Membership Details section, locate and click the Cancel membership link. Audible may first try to offer you a discounted plan, a free month, or the option to pause your membership. Review these offers if interested, or proceed with cancellation.
Pro tip: Audible often offers a discounted rate or a free month to keep you as a member. If you are leaving because of the price, it may be worth checking the retention offer before confirming.
Select a reason and continue
Audible will ask why you are canceling. Select the reason that best fits your situation. Then click Continue to cancel. You may need to click through one or two more pages where Audible presents additional retention offers. Keep clicking Continue to cancel until you reach the final confirmation.
Confirm your cancellation
Click the final Cancel membership button to complete the process. You will see a confirmation message on screen and receive a confirmation email from Audible. Your membership benefits continue until the end of your current billing period.
Important: Use up all your remaining credits before canceling. Unused credits are lost once your membership ends. You can use credits to purchase audiobooks or even pre-order upcoming titles.
Consider Pausing Instead
If you are not sure about canceling permanently, Audible lets you pause your membership for 30, 60, or 90 days. You can pause for a total of up to 90 days per 12-month period.
Keep your credits
Unlike canceling, pausing preserves all your unused credits so you can use them later.
No charges while paused
Your billing stops during the pause period. You will not be charged again until the pause ends.
Keep member discounts
While paused, you still get access to member-only sales, 2-for-1 deals, and discounted audiobook prices.
To pause, go to Account Details on audible.com and look for the Pause membership button instead of Cancel membership.
Subscribed Through Apple or Google?
If you signed up for Audible through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, you need to cancel through those platforms. The Audible website will not show a cancel option because Apple or Google handles your billing.

What Happens After You Cancel Audible?
You keep all purchased audiobooks forever
Any audiobooks you bought with credits or purchased outright are permanently yours. They remain in your Audible library and you can listen to them or download them at any time, even years after canceling. This applies whether you used credits, bought them at the member price, or received them as gifts.
Unused credits are lost
Any credits you have not used will expire at the end of your final billing period. There is no way to recover or cash out unused credits after cancellation. Before canceling, spend your remaining credits on audiobooks or use them to pre-order upcoming titles that will be delivered even after your membership ends.
You lose access to the Plus Catalog
Audible's Plus Catalog gives members unlimited access to a rotating library of thousands of audiobooks, podcasts, and Originals. When your membership ends, you lose access to all Plus Catalog content. Only titles you purchased or redeemed with credits remain available.
You lose member pricing and discounts
As a member, you get discounted audiobook prices (typically 30% off list price) and access to member-only sales. After canceling, you will pay full price for any future audiobook purchases. You can still buy audiobooks without a membership, just at higher prices.
