Cancel Cloudflare Pro via Dashboard
Log in to the Cloudflare Dashboard
Go to dash.cloudflare.com and sign in with your Cloudflare account email and password. If you have multiple accounts, make sure you are in the correct one.
Select the domain with the Pro plan
From your account home, click on the domain name that has the Pro plan you want to cancel. Each domain has its own plan, so you need to downgrade them individually.
Navigate to Plan settings
On the domain's Overview page, look for the plan section on the right side. Click Change Plan or scroll down and click on the plan management option.
Select Free plan and confirm the downgrade
Choose the Free plan from the available options and click Confirm Downgrade. Cloudflare will show you a list of Pro features you will lose. Your Pro features stay active until the end of the current billing cycle.
Want to Remove Your Domain Entirely?
If you want to completely remove your site from Cloudflare rather than just downgrading, you can delete the domain from your account.
Remove Domain from Cloudflare
- 1. Go to the domain's Overview page
- 2. Scroll to Advanced Actions
- 3. Click Remove Site from Cloudflare
- 4. Update your domain's nameservers at your registrar
- 5. Confirm the removal
Cancel Additional Services
- 1. Check for Workers, R2, or Pages usage
- 2. Go to Profile > Billing
- 3. Review all active subscriptions
- 4. Cancel each add-on service individually
- 5. Remove payment method if desired
What Happens After You Cancel Cloudflare Pro?
DNS and basic CDN continue working
Your DNS records and basic CDN services remain fully functional on the free plan. Your website continues to load through Cloudflare's network with no downtime during the transition.
Pro features are removed
You will lose access to Pro-only features including the Web Application Firewall (WAF) managed rules, image optimization (Polish), mobile optimization, and priority support.
Free SSL certificate stays active
Cloudflare's free Universal SSL certificate continues to work on the free plan. Your site remains accessible via HTTPS without any additional configuration needed.
Page Rules are reduced
The free plan includes only 3 Page Rules (down from 20 on Pro). If you have more than 3 active, the extra rules will be disabled. Review and prioritize your most important rules before downgrading.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Cloudflare offer refunds when downgrading?
Cloudflare does not typically offer prorated refunds when downgrading from Pro to Free. Your Pro features remain active until the end of the current billing cycle, so time your downgrade accordingly.
Will my website go down when I cancel Cloudflare Pro?
No. Your website continues to work on the free Cloudflare plan. DNS, basic CDN, and SSL all remain functional. Only Pro-specific features like managed WAF rules and image optimization are removed.
What happens to my Cloudflare Workers and Pages?
Cloudflare Workers and Pages have their own pricing plans separate from the Pro zone plan. Downgrading your zone does not automatically cancel Workers or Pages -- you need to manage those separately.
Can I cancel Pro for just one domain?
Yes. Cloudflare plans are per-domain. You can downgrade one domain to the free plan while keeping Pro on others. Each domain is managed independently in the dashboard.
How do I delete my Cloudflare account entirely?
To delete your account, first remove all domains and cancel all paid services. Then go to Profile > Account > Delete Account. This is permanent and cannot be undone.
