Log in to Codecademy
Go to codecademy.com and sign in with your email and password. If you used GitHub, Google, or another sign-in method, use that same one. Make sure you are on the account with the active Pro subscription.
Open the Billing Page
Click your avatar or initials in the top-right corner and select My Account from the dropdown. Then click the Billing tab, or go directly to codecademy.com/account/billing. This page shows your Pro plan details, payment method, and renewal date.
Click Manage Subscription
Find the Subscription or Plan section. Click Manage Subscription. You will see your current plan type (Pro or Plus), your next billing date, and what you are paying.
Click Cancel My Subscription
Click Cancel My Subscription or Cancel. Codecademy will walk you through a few screens asking why you are leaving and possibly offering you a discount. Keep clicking through until you confirm the cancellation.
Verify the cancellation
You should receive a confirmation email from Codecademy. Your account page should also update to show your Pro access end date. Save the email as proof. Your Pro features stay active until the billing period ends.
Good News: Free Courses Stay Available
Codecademy has a generous free tier. After canceling Pro, you still have access to dozens of introductory courses in Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, and more. You lose access to Pro-exclusive content like career paths, practice projects, quizzes, and certificates, but the basics remain free forever.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I still use Codecademy after canceling Pro?
Yes. You keep Pro access through the end of your billing period. After that, your account reverts to the free plan, which still includes many introductory courses. Your profile, streaks, and completed progress are all preserved.
Can I get a refund from Codecademy?
Codecademy does not typically offer partial refunds. However, if you were recently charged or believe a charge was made in error, contact Codecademy support. If you subscribed through Apple or Google, you can request a refund through those platforms.
Do I lose my coding progress if I cancel?
No. Your completed exercises, course progress, and profile remain intact on the free plan. You just lose access to Pro-exclusive content like career paths, practice projects, and professional certificates. Everything you have already completed is still yours.
Will I lose my certificates if I cancel Codecademy Pro?
Certificates you have already earned remain on your profile and are still viewable. However, you will not be able to earn new certificates on the free plan since certificate-granting courses are Pro-exclusive. Your completed course progress, streaks, and badges are all preserved regardless of plan status.
Why can I not find the cancel option on the website?
If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, the cancel option will not appear on the Codecademy website. You need to cancel through the platform where you originally subscribed. Check your iPhone Settings or Google Play subscriptions.
