How to Cancel Discord Nitro
Where you bought Nitro decides where you cancel it. That one fact catches more people than the cancel flow itself, which is genuinely easy once you know which door to use.
First, find your door
Discord cannot cancel a subscription billed by Apple, Google, Microsoft, or Epic. Bought directly on Discord? Use the five clicks below. Everything else: see the table further down.

The five clicks (desktop or web)
About two minutes. No retention agent, no counter-offer, no phone tree. Two soft gates: a perk-loss reminder and an optional feedback question.
- Click the gear next to your username (bottom-left). Opens User Settings.
- Open Subscriptions in the left sidebar. Your Nitro plan sits at the top with a Cancel button. Scroll down: Server Subscriptions and Premium App Subscriptions sit below Nitro and need separate cancels.
- Hit Cancel, read the perks-lost modal (animated avatar, custom emoji, HD video, 500MB upload, two Server Boosts), click Continue.
- Skip the feedback survey. Optional and non-blocking.
- Confirm, then verify. Discord does not auto-email a receipt. Reload Subscriptions: status should read "Cancelled" with the end-of-billing date. Screenshot it.

The thing the cancel flow mentions in passing
Your two free Server Boosts disappear with you.
Nitro ($9.99) includes two Server Boosts. When you cancel, both pull out of whatever server they were boosting at the end of your billing period. If your friend's server was at Level 2 because of you, it drops to Level 1 and they get a notification with your username on it. To keep boosting one server without Nitro, buy a standalone Server Boost ($4.99/mo) before you cancel. Nitro Basic ($2.99) includes no boosts.

When the charge actually stops
Nitro stays active through the end of your current period, then turns off. No prorated refund on the $99.99 annual plan. A 5-day refund window exists via a ticket at Discord support, but you only ever get one Nitro refund per account, ever.
Questions people actually ask
I got Nitro through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Why is there no cancel button?
Because there is no separate Nitro subscription to cancel. It is included in your Game Pass Ultimate price. The Nitro perk ends when Game Pass ends. Under the May 2026 partnership, it renews for as long as you keep Game Pass active.
I claimed free Nitro from Epic Games. Will it auto-charge me?
Yes, at the end of the promo, at $9.99/month, with no warning email. Cancel inside Discord (User Settings, Subscriptions) before the promo expires. Doing anything on Epic's side will not stop Discord's charge.
Does cancelling Nitro also cancel my Server Subscriptions or Premium App Subscriptions?
No. They sit in the same Subscriptions tab but each has its own Manage button. Cancel Nitro and they keep charging. Scroll the entire page and cancel each one separately.
Can I get a refund on Nitro?
Only within 5 days of the charge, only via a support ticket at dis.gd/billing, and only once ever per account. iOS purchases go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Google Play purchases go through Google Play.
Now that Nitro is sorted, what else is on autopay?
