How to Cancel Your
Discovery+ Subscription
Discovery+ has merged into Max in the US and some other regions. Here is how to cancel your subscription, whether it is still standalone or has been migrated.

Important: Discovery+ Merged Into Max in Some Regions
In the United States, Discovery+ content was integrated into Max (formerly HBO Max) in early 2024. US-based Discovery+ subscribers were migrated to Max. However, Discovery+ still operates as a standalone service in many international markets including the UK, Europe, and parts of Asia. If you are in the US and still being charged, your subscription likely migrated to Max.
Cancel Discovery+ on the Website
Determine Your Current Service
Check your bank statement. If you are in the US, you may see a charge from Max or Warner Bros. Discovery instead of Discovery+. If the charge is from Amazon, Apple, Google, or Roku, you need to cancel through that platform. If Discovery+ is still standalone in your region, go to discoveryplus.com.
Sign In to Your Account
Go to discoveryplus.com (or max.com if migrated) and sign in using your email and password. If your account was migrated, your Discovery+ credentials should work on Max.
Go to Account Settings
Click your profile icon in the top-right corner, then select Account. Here you will find your subscription details, including your current plan, billing date, and payment method.
Click Cancel Subscription
Under your subscription details, click Cancel Subscription. The service may show a summary of what you will lose and attempt to offer you a different plan or a discount. If you want to proceed, decline these offers.
Confirm Cancellation
Complete the confirmation process. You will receive an email confirming your cancellation. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period, after which your account will be deactivated.
Subscribed Through Apple or Google?
If you subscribed to Discovery+ through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Amazon Prime Video Channels, or Roku, you must cancel through that platform. The Discovery+ website will not show a cancel option for third-party subscriptions.

- 1. Open Settings on your iPhone
- 2. Tap your name at the top (Apple Account)
- 3. Tap Subscriptions
- 4. Tap Discovery+ or Max
- 5. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm
Cancel via Android
- 1. Open the Google Play Store app
- 2. Tap your profile icon (top right)
- 3. Tap Payments & subscriptions
- 4. Tap Subscriptions then Discovery+
- 5. Tap Cancel subscription and confirm
What Happens After You Cancel Discovery+?
You keep access until your billing period ends
After canceling, you can continue watching all Discovery+ content until the end of your current billing cycle. You will not be charged again after that.
Discovery+ content is available on Max (US)
If you are in the US and want to keep watching Discovery content, you can subscribe to Max, which includes the full Discovery+ library alongside HBO content. In international markets, Discovery+ may still be available standalone.
No refunds for partial billing periods
Discovery+ does not provide prorated refunds. Whether you cancel on day 1 or day 29, you will not receive money back for remaining days in your billing cycle.
Your account data is retained briefly
Discovery+ retains your profile, watchlist, and viewing history for a period after cancellation. If you resubscribe within that window, you can pick up where you left off.

Is Discovery+ still available in the US?
In the US, Discovery+ as a standalone service has been largely absorbed into Max. Discovery+ content including shows from HGTV, Food Network, TLC, and Discovery Channel is now available through Max. Some US subscribers may still have legacy Discovery+ subscriptions that need to be canceled.
How do I cancel Discovery+ on Amazon?
Go to amazon.com, hover over Account & Lists, and click Memberships & Subscriptions. Find Discovery+ in your channel subscriptions and click Cancel Channel. Your access will continue until the end of the current billing period.
My Discovery+ account was migrated to Max. How do I cancel?

Will I get a refund if I cancel Discovery+?
No. Discovery+ does not offer refunds for partial billing periods. You can continue watching until the end of the current billing cycle you already paid for.
Can I still watch Discovery shows without Discovery+?
In the US, Discovery content is available through Max. Some Discovery shows are also available through cable or satellite TV packages, Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, and other live TV streaming services. Individual episodes may be available for purchase on Amazon or Apple TV.
