Cancel ElevenLabs on the Website
Sign in to ElevenLabs
Go to elevenlabs.io and sign in with the account that has the paid subscription. You can sign in with email, Google, or GitHub depending on how you registered.
Go to Subscription settings
Click your profile icon in the bottom-left corner of the dashboard, then click Subscription. This page shows your current plan (Starter, Creator, Pro, or Scale), character usage, and billing details.
Click Manage Subscription
Click the Manage Subscription button. This opens the Stripe billing portal where you can manage your plan. If you do not see this button, look for a Change plan or Billing link instead.
Click Cancel Plan
In the Stripe billing portal, click Cancel plan or Cancel subscription. You may be asked to provide a reason for canceling. ElevenLabs may show you what you will lose access to, including higher character limits and premium voices.
Confirm the cancellation
Click the final Confirm cancellation button. You will receive a confirmation email from Stripe. Your paid features remain active until the end of the current billing period, after which your account reverts to the free tier.
Subscribed Through Apple or Google?
If you subscribed to ElevenLabs through the iOS or Android app via in-app purchase, you need to cancel through the respective app store. The ElevenLabs website cannot cancel app-store-billed subscriptions.

What Happens After You Cancel ElevenLabs?
Your voice clones are preserved
Custom voice clones you created during your paid subscription are not deleted when you cancel. They remain in your account, though your access to use them may be limited on the free tier depending on the clone type (Instant vs Professional).
You revert to the free tier
After your billing period ends, your account drops to the free plan. You get a much smaller monthly character quota (around 10,000 characters per month), fewer concurrent voice generations, and access to fewer premium voice models.
Unused credits do not carry over
Any unused character credits from your paid plan expire at the end of the billing period. They do not roll over to the free plan. If you have remaining credits, use them before your subscription ends.
Download your generated audio first
Make sure to download any generated audio files you want to keep. While your generation history is saved, access to previously generated audio may be limited on the free tier. Download important files before your subscription ends.

Will I lose my voice clones if I cancel ElevenLabs?
No. Your voice clones remain in your account after canceling. However, on the free tier you may have limited slots for custom voices, and Professional Voice Clones (which require a paid plan to create) may be restricted. Instant Voice Clones generally remain accessible on the free tier.
How many characters do I get on the free plan?
The ElevenLabs free plan provides approximately 10,000 characters per month for text-to-speech generation. This is significantly less than paid plans (Starter offers 30,000, Creator offers 100,000, and Pro offers 500,000 characters per month).
Can I get a refund for my ElevenLabs subscription?

Can I still use the API after canceling?
