Headspace auto-renews at the end of each billing period. If you have an annual plan, the renewal charge can be significant. Cancel before the end of your period to prevent the next charge. Also note: if you have a Headspace + Spotify bundle, you must cancel through Spotify, not Headspace.
Cancel Headspace on the Website
Go to the subscription management page
Open a web browser and visit headspace.com/subscription/manage. If you are not already logged in, sign in with the email address associated with your Headspace account.
Click Cancel Membership
On the subscription management page, find and click the Cancel Membership link. If you do not see this option, it likely means you subscribed through Apple or Google, and you need to cancel through those platforms instead.
Follow the cancellation prompts
Headspace may ask you why you are leaving and offer alternative plans or discounts. Follow the prompts and confirm your decision to cancel. You may need to click through several screens.
Verify cancellation confirmation
After confirming, you should see a cancellation confirmation message. You should also receive a confirmation email. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period.
Subscribed Through Apple, Google, or Spotify?
If you subscribed through an app store or have a Spotify bundle, the Headspace website will not have a cancel button. You must cancel through the platform where you originally subscribed.
Cancel via iPhone / iPad
- 1. Open Settings on your iPhone
- 2. Tap your name at the top (Apple Account)
- 3. Tap Subscriptions
- 4. Tap Headspace in the list
- 5. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm
Cancel via Android
- 1. Open the Google Play Store app
- 2. Tap your profile icon (top right)
- 3. Tap Payments & subscriptions
- 4. Tap Subscriptions then Headspace
- 5. Tap Cancel subscription and confirm
Headspace + Spotify Bundle
If your Headspace subscription came as part of a Spotify bundle, you cannot cancel through Headspace. Instead:
- 1. Go to spotify.com/account/subscription
- 2. Log in to your Spotify account
- 3. Under Subscription, manage or cancel your plan
- 4. This will cancel both Spotify Premium and Headspace together
Note: Canceling the Spotify bundle cancels both services. You cannot cancel only the Headspace portion of a bundled subscription.
What Happens After You Cancel Headspace?
Access continues until your billing period ends
After canceling, you keep full access to all Headspace premium content until the end of your current billing cycle. Continue using guided meditations, sleep content, focus music, and courses until that date.
Some free basics remain available
Headspace offers a limited free tier after your subscription ends. You retain access to a small selection of basic meditation exercises, breathing techniques, and introductory content. The full library of hundreds of guided sessions is no longer available.
You lose guided courses, sleep content, and focus music
The premium content that makes up the core of Headspace — multi-session guided courses, Sleepcasts, sleep music, focus playlists, and the move/exercise library — all become inaccessible once your subscription expires.
Your progress and stats are saved
Headspace saves your meditation stats, streak history, completed sessions, and account data. If you decide to resubscribe later, everything is preserved and you can pick up right where you left off.

Does Headspace offer refunds?
Headspace offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on annual plans only. If you cancel your annual subscription within 30 days of purchase, you may be eligible for a full refund by contacting [email protected]. Monthly plans and subscriptions beyond 30 days are generally non-refundable. If you subscribed through Apple or Google, request refunds through those platforms.
How do I cancel my Headspace + Spotify bundle?
If you have a bundled Headspace + Spotify subscription, you must cancel through Spotify at spotify.com/account/subscription. You cannot cancel just the Headspace portion; canceling the bundle ends both services. The Headspace website and app cannot manage this type of subscription.
Can I still use Headspace for free after canceling?
Yes. Headspace offers a limited free tier that includes some basic meditations, breathing exercises, and a small selection of introductory content. While the free content is much more limited than the full library, it still provides useful mindfulness tools.
What if I do not see the Cancel Membership button?

Will I lose my meditation streak if I cancel?
Your meditation streak and all account data are preserved after canceling. However, since most premium content becomes inaccessible, maintaining your streak with free content only may be challenging. If you resubscribe, your streak history will still be visible in your account.
