How to Cancel Your
Hinge Subscription

This is critical: even if you delete the Hinge app or delete your Hinge account, you will continue to be billed. You must cancel the subscription separately through Apple Settings or Google Play Store. Cancel at least 24 hours before your next renewal date.

Cancel Hinge via iPhone (Most Common)

Open Settings on your iPhone

Tap the Settings app on your home screen. Hinge subscriptions purchased through iOS are fully managed by Apple, not by Hinge.

Tap your name, then Subscriptions

Tap your name at the top of the Settings screen. Then tap Subscriptions to view all active and expired subscriptions linked to your Apple ID.

Select Hinge from the list

Find and tap Hinge in your active subscriptions. It may show as Hinge Preferred or HingeX depending on your tier. You will see your renewal date and pricing.

Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm

Tap Cancel Subscription at the bottom of the screen and confirm when prompted. Your premium features will remain active until the end of your current billing period. No further charges will occur.

Subscribed Through Google Play?

If you use Hinge on an Android device and subscribed through Google Play, follow these steps instead. Make sure you are signed in to the same Google account used for the subscription.

What Happens After You Cancel Hinge?

Your profile stays active

Canceling your subscription does not delete or hide your Hinge profile. You remain visible to other users and can continue using Hinge's free features, including sending likes and chatting with matches.

Matches and conversations are kept

All of your existing matches and message history remain intact after canceling. Your connections are not tied to your subscription status, so nothing gets lost.

You lose Roses, enhanced preferences, and priority likes

Once your billing period ends, you revert to the free tier. You lose the extra Roses that came with your plan, unlimited likes, enhanced dealbreaker preferences, the ability to see who liked you, and priority placement in other users' feeds (HingeX).

Daily like limits are reinstated

Free Hinge users have a limited number of likes per day. After your subscription ends, these daily limits return. You also go back to receiving a limited number of free Roses each week instead of the enhanced allotment.

Does deleting the Hinge app or my account cancel my subscription?

No. This is the most important thing to know. Deleting the Hinge app from your phone or even deleting your Hinge account does not cancel your subscription. Apple or Google will continue charging you. You must cancel the subscription separately through your device's settings.

What is the difference between Hinge Preferred and HingeX?

Hinge Preferred gives you unlimited likes, enhanced preference filters, and additional Roses each week. HingeX includes everything in Preferred plus priority likes (your profile is shown to potential matches sooner), a premium badge on your profile, and extra visibility. Both plans are canceled the same way through your app store.

Can I get a refund for my Hinge subscription?

Hinge generally does not issue refunds for unused subscription time. If you subscribed through Apple, you can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. For Google Play, visit the Google Play order history page. Refund approval is at the discretion of Apple or Google.

When should I cancel to avoid the next charge?

You should cancel at least 24 hours before your subscription renewal date. Both Apple and Google require this buffer period. If you cancel too close to the renewal date, you may still be charged for the next period. Check your subscription details for the exact renewal date.

Can I resubscribe to Hinge after canceling?

Yes. You can resubscribe at any time by opening the Hinge app and selecting a subscription plan. Your profile data, matches, and conversations are not affected by your subscription status, so everything will be right where you left it.
