What Happens After You Cancel Miro?

Paid features last until the billing period ends

Miro does not cut off access immediately. You continue using all paid features until the end of the current billing cycle you already paid for.

Boards become view-only

When the billing period ends, all Miro boards become locked in view-only mode for all team members. Your boards are not deleted, but you cannot edit them until you resubscribe or downgrade to a free plan.

No refunds for unused time

Miro does not provide prorated refunds. Even if you cancel early in your billing cycle, you retain access through the end of the period but do not get money back.

All admins are notified

When the subscription is canceled, all team admins receive an email notification confirming that the subscription is set to expire at the end of the current billing period.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens to my Miro boards after canceling?

Your boards are not deleted. They become locked in view-only mode when the billing period ends. To regain editing access, you can either resubscribe to a paid plan or downgrade to the free plan (which has limited board access).

Can I downgrade Miro to a free plan instead?

Yes. Miro offers a free plan with limited boards and features. You can downgrade instead of fully canceling, which keeps your account active and some boards editable within the free plan limits.

Who can cancel a Miro subscription?

Only team administrators can cancel the Miro subscription. Regular team members do not have access to billing settings. Contact your team admin if you need the subscription canceled.

Can I resubscribe to Miro after canceling?

Yes. You can resubscribe at any time through the Billing section. Your boards and data will still be available, and you will regain full editing access once the new subscription is active.
