1

Check where you subscribed

Before attempting to cancel, determine how you originally subscribed. Check your bank or credit card statement. If the charge is from MyFitnessPal or Under Armour, cancel on the website. If the charge is from Apple or Google, cancel through your phone's subscription settings instead.

2

Log in to MyFitnessPal

Go to myfitnesspal.com and sign in with your account credentials. You can also open the MyFitnessPal app and navigate to your account settings from there.

3

Go to Subscription settings

Click on My Account (or tap the gear icon in the app), then navigate to Subscriptions. This shows your current Premium plan, billing cycle, and renewal date.

4

Click Cancel Subscription

Click the Cancel Subscription button. MyFitnessPal may show you what Premium features you will lose and offer you a discounted rate. You can decline these and proceed with cancellation.

5

Confirm and verify

Click the final confirmation button to complete your cancellation. You should receive a confirmation email. Your account will revert to the free MyFitnessPal tier at the end of your current billing period.

What Happens After You Cancel MyFitnessPal Premium?

Your free account stays active

Canceling Premium does not delete your MyFitnessPal account. You keep the free version with basic calorie tracking, food logging, barcode scanning, and community access. Your food diary and weight history remain intact.

You lose Premium-only features

After your billing period ends, you will lose access to Premium features like nutrient tracking by meal, custom macro goals, food analysis, advanced reporting, and an ad-free experience. The core tracking features remain available.

No refunds for partial billing periods

MyFitnessPal does not offer prorated refunds. You retain Premium access until the end of your current billing cycle. If you subscribed via Apple or Google, their refund policies apply if you request one directly from them.

All historical data is preserved

Your entire food diary history, exercise logs, weight progress, and saved meals/recipes are preserved in your free account. You can export your data at any time from the MyFitnessPal website.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I lose my food diary data if I cancel Premium?

No. All your food diary entries, workout logs, weight history, and saved meals remain in your account. Canceling Premium only removes access to advanced features like detailed nutrient breakdowns and custom goals. The core data is yours to keep.

Can I still track calories for free after canceling?

Yes. The free version of MyFitnessPal still includes calorie tracking, food logging, barcode scanning, and basic nutrient information. Premium adds extras like macro goals by meal, advanced insights, and no ads.

Why can I not find the cancel button on the website?

If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, the MyFitnessPal website will not show a cancel option. You must cancel through your phone's subscription settings instead. Check your bank statement to determine who is billing you.

How do I completely delete my MyFitnessPal account?

To fully delete your account (not just cancel Premium), go to Settings in the app or website, then Account, and select Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data and cannot be undone. Cancel your subscription first to stop billing.

Can I resubscribe to MyFitnessPal Premium later?

Yes. You can resubscribe at any time from the app or website. Your previous data and diary entries will still be there. Simply go to the Premium section and choose a plan.
