What Happens After You Cancel Splice?
Downloaded samples are yours forever
All samples and sounds you have already downloaded with your credits are yours to keep permanently. You can continue using them in your music projects without any restrictions.
Unused credits stay in your account
Any credits you have not used remain in your account. You will not earn new credits, but you can use your existing balance even after canceling. Credits do not expire.
Rent-to-own plugin progress is paused
If you are using Splice's rent-to-own plugin plans, your payment progress is paused but not lost. When you resubscribe, you pick up where you left off. Fully paid-off plugins remain yours.
Cloud project backups may be affected
If you use Splice Studio for DAW project backups, your cloud backup access may be limited after canceling. Download any important project files before your subscription ends.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I keep my Splice credits after canceling?
Yes. Your unused credits remain in your account and do not expire. You can use them to download samples even without an active subscription, but you will not earn new credits.
Can I keep samples I downloaded from Splice?
Absolutely. All samples and sounds you downloaded with your credits are yours to keep and use in your productions forever. This is one of the best things about Splice's model.
Can I pause my Splice subscription instead?
Splice may offer a pause option during the cancellation flow. Pausing lets you keep your credits and progress without being charged. Check if this option is available during cancellation.
What happens to my rent-to-own plugins?
Plugins you have fully paid off are yours to keep. For plugins still in progress, your payments are paused. You will lose access to those plugins until you resubscribe and complete the payments.
Can I get a refund from Splice?
Splice generally does not offer refunds for partial billing periods. Your access continues until the end of your current billing cycle. Contact Splice support for special circumstances.
