The Hindu offers premium digital plans including ePaper, website access, and combo bundles. Whether you're subscribed to their Platinum, Gold, or ePaper-only plan, this guide walks you through cancellation on thehindu.com, plus how to stop billing via Apple and Google if you subscribed through the app.
Visit thehindu.com and click the profile icon in the top-right corner. Sign in using your registered email address and password. If you signed up using Google or Facebook, use the same social login method.
Once logged in, navigate to My Account or click on your profile avatar. Look for Subscription or My Plan in the dropdown or account dashboard. This page displays your current plan type (ePaper, Digital, or Combo) along with the renewal date.
Click Cancel Subscription or Turn Off Auto-Renewal. The Hindu may show a retention offer or ask for your cancellation reason. Select your reason and confirm the cancellation. You should receive a confirmation email at your registered address within a few minutes.
Access continues until the end of your current billing period. If your plan renews on the 15th, you can read premium content and the ePaper until that date.
No more charges. Auto-renewal stops immediately after cancellation. You will not be billed for the next cycle.
Free tier access. Your account stays active and you can still access free articles, though premium and ePaper content will be locked.
