Cancel Apple Fitness+ on iPhone or iPad
Open Settings
Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad. This is the gray gear icon on your home screen. Make sure you are signed in with the Apple Account that holds your Fitness+ subscription.
Tap your name at the top
At the very top of Settings, tap your name to open your Apple Account page. This is the central hub for managing your Apple ID, subscriptions, Family Sharing, and payment methods.
Tap Subscriptions
On the Apple Account page, tap Subscriptions. You will see a list of all your active and expired Apple subscriptions. It may take a few seconds to load the full list.
Select Apple Fitness+
Find and tap Apple Fitness+ in the list of active subscriptions. If your Fitness+ is part of an Apple One Premier bundle, you will see Apple One listed instead. In that case, you will need to cancel or downgrade the entire Apple One plan.
Tap Cancel Subscription
Scroll to the bottom and tap Cancel Subscription (or Cancel Free Trial if you are still in a trial period). Confirm your cancellation when prompted. You will keep access to Fitness+ workouts until the end of your current billing period.

What Happens After You Cancel Apple Fitness+?
Your workout history and achievements are preserved
All your workout data, activity rings, badges, and achievements are stored in the Apple Health app on your device, not in the Fitness+ subscription. Canceling Fitness+ does not erase any of your fitness history or metrics.
You keep access until your billing period ends
Apple does not cut off access immediately. You can continue using all Fitness+ workout videos, meditations, and guided content until the end of the billing cycle you already paid for.
Guided workouts and meditations become inaccessible
Once your subscription ends, you will lose access to all trainer-led workout videos, guided meditations, and time-to-walk audio episodes. The Fitness app itself remains on your device for basic activity tracking.
Basic Fitness app features still work
The Fitness app on your iPhone continues to track your daily activity, steps, and exercise minutes without a Fitness+ subscription. Apple Watch workout tracking also remains fully functional. You only lose the premium Fitness+ content library.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens to my workout history if I cancel?
Your entire workout history is safe. All activity rings, badges, workout data, and achievements are stored in Apple Health, completely separate from the Fitness+ subscription. Nothing is deleted when you cancel. The only thing you lose is access to the guided video workouts.
Can I cancel Apple Fitness+ if it came with Apple One?
Apple Fitness+ is included in the Apple One Premier plan. You cannot remove Fitness+ individually from the bundle. You would need to cancel or downgrade your entire Apple One plan, and then subscribe separately to the other Apple services you want to keep.
Will I get a refund if I cancel Apple Fitness+?
Apple does not offer prorated refunds for Fitness+. Your access continues until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. If you cancel during a free trial, access may end immediately rather than at the end of the trial window.
Do I need an Apple Watch to use Fitness+?
An Apple Watch is no longer required. You can follow workouts on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV without one. However, real-time metrics like heart rate, calories burned, and the Burn Bar are only available when you have a paired Apple Watch during the workout.
Can I resubscribe to Apple Fitness+ later?
Yes. You can resubscribe at any time through Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions on your device. Your workout history in Apple Health will still be there, so you can pick up your fitness journey right where you left off.
