Deleting the App Does NOT Cancel Your Subscription
This cannot be said loud enough. Removing Grindr from your phone does nothing to stop the charges. Apple or Google will keep billing you every month until you go into your phone's subscription settings and explicitly cancel. Do not make this expensive mistake.
Cancel on iPhone / iPad (App Store)
Open Settings on your iPhone
Open the Settings app (gray gear icon) on your iPhone or iPad. Not the Grindr app. The actual device Settings.
Tap your name at the top
Tap your name at the very top of the Settings screen to access your Apple Account. This is where all your subscriptions are managed.
Tap Subscriptions
Tap Subscriptions to see all your active and expired subscriptions. Scroll through and find Grindr in the list. It might show as Grindr XTRA or Grindr Unlimited.
Tap Grindr
Tap on Grindr to see your plan details. You will see what plan you are on, how much you are paying, and when the next renewal date is.
Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm
Tap Cancel Subscription at the bottom and confirm. Your XTRA or Unlimited features stay active until the current billing period ends. After that, you are back to the free tier. Simple as that.
Cancel on Android (Google Play)
Open the Google Play Store
Open the Google Play Store app on your Android device. The colorful triangle icon. Not the Grindr app.
Tap your profile icon
Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner. Then tap Payments & subscriptions from the menu.
Tap Subscriptions
Tap Subscriptions to see all your active Google Play subscriptions. Find Grindr in the list.
Cancel the subscription
Tap Grindr, then tap Cancel subscription. Follow the prompts to confirm. Your paid features stay active until your current billing period ends, then you switch to the free version.
