Turn Off Hover Auto-Renewal on the Website
Sign in to your Hover account
Go to hover.com/control_panel/billing and sign in with your Hover credentials. If you have two-factor authentication enabled, complete the verification step.
Go to your Domains list
In the control panel, click on Domains in the left sidebar. You will see a list of all domains registered under your account along with their expiration dates and renewal status.
Select the domain to manage
Click on the specific domain name you want to stop auto-renewing. This opens the domain management page where you can see all settings including DNS, WHOIS, and renewal options.
Toggle off Auto-Renew
Find the Auto-Renew toggle switch and turn it off. Hover will ask you to confirm. Once disabled, your domain will not renew automatically when it expires. You can still manually renew at any time before expiration.
Subscribed Through Apple or Google?
Hover is a domain registrar service typically managed through their website. However, if you have a Hover email subscription billed through Apple or Google, cancel through those platforms instead.

What Happens After You Cancel Hover Auto-Renewal?
Your domain stays active until expiration
Disabling auto-renew does not immediately delete or deactivate your domain. It continues to work normally until its expiration date. Your website and email will keep functioning.
You can transfer your domain to another registrar
Before your domain expires, you can transfer it to another registrar like Cloudflare, Namecheap, or Google Domains. Unlock your domain and get the authorization code from Hover first.
Expired domains enter a grace period
If your domain expires, Hover provides a grace period where you can still renew it. After the grace period, the domain enters a redemption phase with additional fees before being released to the public.
Email hosting stops with domain expiry
If you use Hover's email forwarding or mailbox services tied to your domain, those will stop working once the domain expires. Back up important emails before letting the domain lapse.
