Cancel Setapp on the Website
Log in to your Setapp account
Go to my.setapp.com in your web browser and sign in with your Setapp email and password. You can also access this by clicking the Setapp icon in your Mac menu bar and selecting Manage Subscription.
Go to Subscription settings
Once logged in, navigate to the Subscription section. This shows your current plan (Mac, Mac + iOS, or Team), billing cycle, payment method, and next renewal date.
Click Cancel Subscription
Click the Cancel Subscription link at the bottom of the subscription page. Setapp will show you what you will lose and may offer a discounted rate, a pause option, or suggest switching to a different plan. You can decline all of these.
Select a reason and confirm
Setapp will ask you to select a reason for canceling. Choose the most applicable option and click Confirm Cancellation. You will receive a confirmation email. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period.
Export your data and uninstall (optional)
Before your subscription expires, export any important data from Setapp apps to standard formats. After the subscription ends, you can uninstall the Setapp client and individual apps from your Mac. Apps installed via Setapp will stop working once access expires.

If you subscribed to Setapp through the Mac App Store or via Apple's subscription system, you need to cancel through Apple's settings. The Setapp website will indicate if your billing is managed by Apple.

What Happens After You Cancel Setapp?
You keep access until your billing period ends
After canceling, all Setapp apps continue to work until the end of your current billing period. You can keep using every app in the collection until that date.
All Setapp apps stop working after expiry
Once your subscription expires, every app installed through Setapp will stop functioning. The apps remain on your Mac but display a message that your subscription has expired when you try to open them. You can purchase individual licenses for apps you want to keep using.
Your data files are preserved locally
Files, projects, and data created with Setapp apps are stored on your Mac and are not deleted when the apps stop working. However, you may need the apps to access those files, so export your work to open formats (PDF, JPEG, CSV, etc.) before your subscription ends.
You can resubscribe and regain access instantly
If you resubscribe to Setapp later, all your previously installed apps start working again immediately. Your Setapp account and app preferences are preserved, so there is no setup required.

Will my Mac apps stop working immediately when I cancel?
No. Your Setapp apps continue to work until the end of your current billing period. If you cancel on day 5 of a monthly subscription, you still have access for the remaining days of that month. After the period ends, apps stop functioning.
Can I buy individual app licenses for apps I use from Setapp?
Yes. Most apps available through Setapp also offer individual licenses that you can purchase directly from the developer's website. Before canceling Setapp, check the pricing of apps you rely on to see if individual licenses make financial sense compared to the Setapp subscription.
Will I lose my data from Setapp apps?
