How to Cancel Twitch Turbo (and Cancel the Right Thing)

Quick check first: Twitch has three products that all show up as "Twitch" on your statement, and most people who Google "cancel Twitch Turbo" are paying for one of the other two.

First, figure out which "Twitch" is charging you

Three products, three cancel paths. Match yours before clicking.

Product What it is How to cancel
Twitch Turbo
$11.99/mo
Sitewide ad removal, custom badges, chat colour, longer broadcast storage. twitch.tv/subscriptions. Guide below.
Channel subs
$4.99-$24.99 each
One sub per streamer. Cancelling Turbo does not touch these. Same Subscriptions page, separate rows. Cancel one by one.
Prime Gaming
via Amazon Prime
One free Tier 1 channel sub a month plus game loot. Does not remove ads. Cancel parent Amazon Prime. See our Amazon Prime guide.

The fast path (if Turbo is what you want gone)

Sign in at twitch.tv → twitch.tv/subscriptions → find the Turbo row → Don't Renew → skip the reason → Don't Renew Subscription. Turbo stays active until period end.

Catch: cancel at least 24 hours before renewal or the next charge goes through. Mobile billing fork below.

The five clicks, in detail

1

Sign in at twitch.tv on a browser

Use web, not the mobile app. App Store buyers cannot cancel on twitch.tv and the pass-through often charges extra (see Dexerto's App Store tax report).

2

Go straight to twitch.tv/subscriptions

Or click your profile picture (top right) and pick Subscriptions. Channel subs and Turbo are on the same page in distinct rows.

3

Click Don't Renew on the Twitch Turbo row

Sometimes labelled Cancel Subscription. Confirm you're on the Turbo row, not a channel sub: a misclick costs another $11.99 month.

4

Skip or fill the reason survey

Anonymous and non-blocking. No retention discount, no pause offer behind it. Skip or pick whatever.

5

Click Don't Renew Subscription to confirm

You'll see the period-end date. Screenshot it. Twitch does not always email a confirmation.

The thing Twitch doesn't put in the cancel flow

24-hour deadline, plus the mobile App Store has its own cancel button.

Twitch requires cancellation at least 24 hours before the next renewal. Cancel on renewal day and the charge has almost certainly cleared. Twitch's refund policy excludes recurring fees outside narrow technical or fraud exceptions.

If you bought Turbo through the iOS App Store or Google Play, twitch.tv cannot cancel it. iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Twitch → Cancel. Android: Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Twitch → Cancel.

When the charge actually stops

Turbo runs through the end of the current period (date on your confirmation). Then ads return, badges and colour go away, and the card stops getting hit. No prorated refund. Bits, Cheers, and Hype Train contributions are one-time purchases and stay put after cancellation; they are also non-refundable.

Questions people actually ask

Will cancelling Turbo also cancel my channel subscriptions?

No. Each is a separate recurring charge with its own cancel button on the same page (StreamStickers breakdown).

Why is Twitch still charging me after I cancelled?

Either you cancelled inside the 24-hour pre-renewal window, or you subscribed via the iOS App Store or Google Play. In the second case, cancel through Apple or Google: twitch.tv cannot touch App Store billing.

Can I get a refund for the unused part of the month?

Effectively no. Twitch's policy excludes recurring fees outside technical issues, fraud, or legal requirements (EU 14-day rule). Bits and Hype Train contributions are non-refundable too.

Does Prime Gaming remove ads like Turbo does?

Not since September 2018. Prime Gaming still gives one free channel sub a month and game loot, but Turbo at $11.99 is the only first-party way to remove ads. The price jumped from $8.99 to $11.99 in May 2024 (Dexerto coverage).

Turbo gone. What about those channel subs you forgot about?

Subcut shows every recurring charge on your card in about 60 seconds, including the streamer subs you forgot you renewed.
