Cancel Uber One in the App

1

Open the Uber app

Open the Uber app on your iPhone or Android phone. Make sure you are signed in with the account that has the Uber One membership. You can use either the Uber ride-hailing app or the Uber Eats app, as both connect to the same account and Uber One membership.

2

Go to the Account tab

Tap the Account icon in the bottom navigation bar (it looks like a person silhouette). This takes you to your account settings where you can manage your profile, payment methods, and subscriptions.

3

Tap Uber One

In your account settings, tap Uber One to view your membership details. You will see your current plan, billing date, and a summary of the benefits you are receiving, including delivery discounts and ride savings.

4

Tap Manage Membership

Scroll down on the Uber One page and tap Manage Membership. Uber may show you savings statistics to try to convince you to stay. Continue scrolling past these and look for the cancellation option.

5

Tap End Membership and confirm

Tap End Membership. Uber will ask you to confirm your decision. Tap End Membership one more time to finalize. You will see a confirmation screen, and your benefits will continue until the end of your current billing period.

Important: Cancel 48 hours before your billing date

Uber recommends canceling your Uber One membership at least 48 hours before your next billing date to ensure you are not charged for the next cycle. If you are within 48 hours of your billing date and want to avoid the charge, contact Uber customer support directly at 800-253-9377 (available 24/7) or through the in-app help section.

Cancel Uber One on the Website

If you prefer to cancel from a computer, you can do so through the Uber website. The steps are similar to the app.

1

Open uber.com in your web browser and sign in with your Uber account credentials. Click the profile icon in the top-right corner of the page.

2

Navigate to Uber One settings

From the dropdown menu or your account page, find and select Uber One. This will display your membership details, plan type, and billing information.

3

Click Cancel Membership and confirm

Click the Cancel Membership option, review the confirmation page, and click to confirm. You will receive a confirmation on screen and via email.

What Happens After You Cancel Uber One?

Benefits continue until the billing period ends

Your Uber One benefits, including ride discounts, $0 delivery fees, and reduced service fees, stay active until the last day of your current billing period. You will not be charged again after that date.

Ride discounts disappear

Uber One members typically receive a percentage discount on eligible rides. After your membership expires, ride prices return to standard rates. If you rely on Uber for daily commuting, you may notice a significant increase in your ride costs.

Uber Eats delivery fees return

Without Uber One, delivery fees will be added to your Uber Eats orders again. The $0 delivery fee on orders over a certain amount is an Uber One exclusive. Expect to see delivery fees of $1 to $10 depending on the restaurant and distance.

Your Uber account remains intact

Canceling Uber One does not affect your Uber account. Your ride history, saved places, payment methods, and Uber Eats order history are all preserved. You can still use Uber and Uber Eats normally, just without the membership perks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I get a refund if I cancel Uber One?

Uber One does not typically provide prorated refunds. Your membership remains active until the end of the current billing cycle. However, if you were recently charged and have not used any Uber One benefits since the charge, you may be able to request a refund by contacting Uber support. This is handled on a case-by-case basis and is not guaranteed.

Why should I cancel 48 hours before my billing date?

Uber processes billing renewals up to 48 hours before the actual billing date. If you try to cancel within that window, your payment for the next cycle may have already been processed. To be safe, cancel at least two days before your billing date. Your billing date is shown on the Uber One membership page in the app.

Can I resubscribe to Uber One after canceling?

Yes. You can rejoin Uber One at any time through the Uber app. Uber often offers returning members promotional pricing or discounted trial periods, so it may be worth waiting a few days after canceling to see if you receive a special offer.

Does Uber One apply to both rides and food delivery?

Yes. Uber One is a unified membership that covers both Uber rides and Uber Eats. Benefits include percentage discounts on eligible rides, $0 delivery fees on Uber Eats orders over a minimum amount, and reduced service fees across both platforms. When you cancel, all of these benefits end together.

Can I contact Uber support to cancel by phone?

Yes. You can call Uber support at 800-253-9377, which is available 24/7. A representative can help you cancel your Uber One membership over the phone. This is especially useful if you are within 48 hours of your billing date and want to ensure the next charge does not go through.
