How to Cancel Apple Arcade

Cancelling Apple Arcade itself takes 4 taps and about 90 seconds. The reason so many people get stuck is that they do not actually have Apple Arcade. They have Apple One, with Arcade hiding inside it. Diagnostic first, steps second.

Step 0: Which one do you actually have?

Open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions. Look for the line item.

  • You see "Apple Arcade" by itself. Standalone subscription. Keep reading. The 4-tap path below is yours.
  • You see "Apple One" instead. Your Arcade is bundled. You cannot cancel just Arcade. You have to downgrade Apple One or cancel it. Go to our Apple One cancel guide.
  • You see neither, but the charge is on your card. Probably wrong Apple ID (signed in with the household iPad's account, not the one that bought the sub). Less common: billed via a Verizon Unlimited perk. That fork ended around September 2025; if charges remain, cancel through the My Verizon app, path here.

The fast path (standalone Arcade, iPhone or iPad)

Settings → tap your nameSubscriptionsApple ArcadeCancel Subscription → Confirm. Done. You keep access until your current billing period ends.

On a Mac, Apple TV, or any web browser? The same path lives in slightly different menus. Walkthroughs below.

Not on iPhone?

  • Mac: App Store → click your name (bottom-left) → Account Settings → Subscriptions → Manage → Edit next to Apple Arcade → Cancel.
  • Apple TV: Settings → Users and Accounts → your account → Subscriptions → Apple Arcade → Cancel.
  • Web: Sign in at account.apple.com → Subscriptions → Apple Arcade → Cancel.

Inside a free trial? The button reads Cancel Free Trial. No charge if you confirm before the trial's renewal date.

The thing Apple does not put in the cancel flow

Up to 5 family members lose access the same day you do.

Apple Arcade is auto-included in Family Sharing: one sub covers up to 5 additional members at no cost. The cancel flow does not warn you that they get cut off too. They lose access at period end, the same moment you do. If kids are mid-game, give them a heads-up.

When the charge stops, and what happens to your saves

Apple charges up to 24 hours before the next billing date, so cancel at least a day before renewal. No prorated refund on the $49.99 annual plan: Apple's stance is "all transactions are final," with exceptions via reportaproblem.apple.com.

When the period ends, every Arcade game becomes non-playable. The icon stays; tapping it shows a resubscribe prompt. Saves live in iCloud, and Apple's save-data policy says they will be there when you return, with the caveat: "If you wait too long, some of your game saves might not be supported." Apple does not define too long. Most Arcade titles are exclusive, so leaving usually means leaving the games for real.

Questions people actually ask

I have Apple Arcade through Apple One. Can I cancel just Arcade?

No. Apple's official position: "There isn't a way to remove only Apple Arcade" from an Apple One subscription. You either downgrade Apple One to a tier that drops Arcade, or cancel the whole bundle. Our Apple One cancel guide has both paths.

If I cancel, does the rest of my family lose access?

Yes, the same day you do. Up to 5 Family Sharing members get cut off at the end of your billing period, and Apple does not warn you in the cancel flow.

My new iPhone came with a 3-month free trial. When does it auto-convert?

90 days after activation, unless you cancel first. Auto-converts to $6.99/mo (US). Set a reminder for day 85. You only get one new-device trial per Apple Account, ever. Full terms: Apple's promo T&Cs PDF.

Now that Arcade is off the list, what else is lurking?

Apple Arcade was easy. The next one might not be. Subcut shows every recurring charge on your card in about 60 seconds and flags the renewal dates before they hit.
