What Happens After You Cancel Dashlane?
Your plan stays active until billing period ends
Canceling turns off auto-renewal. You continue to have full access to Dashlane Premium features until the end of the current billing cycle.
Your passwords remain accessible for export
After your subscription ends, your saved passwords and data remain in your Dashlane account. You can log in and export them, but autofill, dark web monitoring, and VPN features will stop working.
Export your data before it becomes inaccessible
Before your subscription ends, export your passwords and secure notes to a CSV file. This ensures you can import them into another password manager without losing anything.
30-day money-back guarantee may apply
If you subscribed recently and are within the 30-day window, you can request a refund. After canceling, look for the Request a refund link on the confirmation page.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens to my passwords after canceling Dashlane?
Your passwords remain stored in your Dashlane account. After your paid plan ends, you can still log in to view and export them. However, you lose autofill functionality, dark web monitoring, VPN access, and other premium features.
Can I get a refund from Dashlane?
Yes, if you are within 30 days of your initial purchase and paid directly through the Dashlane website. After canceling, a Request a refund link appears. App Store and Play Store purchases follow those platforms' refund policies.
How do I export my passwords from Dashlane?
In the Dashlane web app, go to Settings, then find the Export Data option. You can export your vault as a CSV file that can be imported into other password managers like 1Password, LastPass, or Bitwarden.
Is canceling different from deleting my account?
Yes. Canceling your subscription stops future payments but keeps your account and data. Deleting your account permanently removes all your data and cannot be undone. If you want to delete, that is a separate process through account settings.
